How To Add Pinterest Pin It Bookmarklet So You Can Pin From Any Websites

August 31, 2012 by Louisa Chan 2 Comments

A Pinterest Bookmarklet Allows You To Pin From Any Site

Using Pinterest For BusinessNow that you have set up your Pinterest account you want to start pinning images onto your various pinboards.

Pin by Re-Pinning. You can do that by re-pinning images that you see on others’ board or you can pin images, infographs and videos that you see on websites if they have the Pin It Button installed.

Pin Using Pin It Buttons. Some websites have added Pin It Button (like the one you see here) onto their website and blog posts. So if you click on the Pin It buttons on the sites you visit it you’ll be able to pin the image from these websites.

Pin Using Bookmarlets. Some sites have not installed the Pin It Buttons yet. So in case you are wondering how you can pin from these site, don’t worry. The fastest and easiest way to Pin images from any website is to make use of a Pin It Bookmarklet. These can sit on your tool bar or you can save them as bookmarks or favourites.

This is something very easily done. Depending on which browser you are using to surf the internet (whether it is Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorere) the steps are slightly different. And I have made a short video to walk you through this step by step so you don’t have to feel lost and can start pinning in 5 minutes!

How To Install Pinterest Pin It Bookmarlet.
If you have any questions feel free to post these using the comments below.

Resources & Tips: Aug 24 2012

Happy Friday! And to those celebrating Ramadan, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Traffic in town has been fantastic this past week as many have traveled out of the city. But in case you are still in holiday mood, it’s time to get ready for work again!
Between resting and celebrating, I managed to slot in a Social Media Seminar in town this week.  Here are some videos if you like to see what we did! (seminar was conducted in Mandarin but participants shared in many languages! Those multi talented people at Hai-O are fantastic).
This week I received a number of questions concerning Pinterest. I am including the more commonly asked questions here in case you are also wondering about them:
1 – Do I really need a Pinterest account?
Pinterest allows your to show case your business visually and it’s easy to use. Pretty product images get shared easily (and they go viral quickly). Pinterest is generating a lot of traffic and growing at an exponential rate. It is something worth watching out for if images of your service offerings and product help your target market understand you better.
Most people are visual and are drawn to images. The most viewed and shared posts on Facebook are photos. Lately many are saving quotes as image and those are showing up as more attractive and are getting more views and shares.
Instagram and Pinterest are popular because visuals are attractive and there is no need to compose text. Pinterest makes is easy for your audience to share. So if you like what you see, click “repin”, “like”, or “share” and that seems to catch on with many people. Plus who can resist things nice and beautiful?
2 – How do I set up my Business Pinterest Account?
Same way you set up a Personal Account (step by step instructions with diagram) are given in this guide. The question to ask is: do you need 2 accounts? Pinterest is a lifestyle social media platform. By pinning photos and images of things that interest you, you inject personality into your business.
3 – What is the difference between a Business Account and a Personal one?
At the moment, Pinterest does not make any distinction between the 2 kinds of accounts.
4 – How do I make sure others credit the image back to me?
The answer is you can’t. It is common etiquette to give credit where credit is due. So in repinning and sharing, we accredit the source. But there are some who may not follow this etiquette when using Pinterest. What we can do is to ensure that we are nice!
Some have not yet heard about Pinterest. Most find it quite interesting and would like to find out more about it. If you are interested to find out more about Pinterest I have a free report that’ll tell you how to get started with Pinterest. Feel free to download it, print it, book mark it, like it, share it or comment on it and let me know if this is helpful.

Here’s the free Pinterest report that’ll tell you what you need to know to get started on using Pinterest now. Feel free to download it, print it, book mark it, like it, share it or comment on it and let me know if this is helpful. Your Pinterest Guide Here.

Pinterest For Wellness ProfessionalsIt’s called Pinterest
That is not a typo, it is the name of the hottest social media buzz in town right now.
It’s called Pinterest and it’s pretty Pinteresting!
Right now the Pinterest audience is mostly female… which is PERFECT for the wellness industry
Pinterest was launched in May 2011 and it has grown so rapidly that it now has 11 million users (stats as at January 2012).
According to Techcrunch Pinterest is on track to send more visitors to other websites than Yahoo in August. And that means Pinterest will soon be the 4th in the world, says Shareholic.
Hailed as the fastest growing social media site, it is said to have 7 million unique visitors in December 2011 and is bringing moreonline visitorthan other traffic sources like YouTube, Reddit, Google+ and LinkedIn combined [you read that right]. That is a lot of traffic and that means Pinterest cannot be ignored anymore.
A study posted by Mashable states that Pinterest is second only to Facebook when it comes to user engagement.
It is now the number three most popular social network in the US. Users are staying active on the site for an average of 89 minutes. It gets addictive and things that are pinned goes viral pretty fast.
So What Is Pinterest?
Pinterest is the “new” viral image sharing social media site that aims to “connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting” and they seem to be accomplishing that.
People pin what they like onto online virtual boards (called pinboards). And those who like the same kind of things that you like can repin or share the items thus the social and communal aspect of Pinterest. “Like-minded” people come together and share visually appealing photos and videos.
The site has more females than males (some reports says the ratio is about 60/40, others say it is more like 80/20) but in case you think that only recipes and accessories are pinned, big companies like Whole Foods, Ann Taylor, Yale University, Huffington Post, Etsy, NGO, Media, Healthcare are already on Pinterest.
How Can Pinterest Help Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists? Can your business use the extra coverage, traffic, new contacts and back links? Pinterest can be a great source of clients and awareness for your business.
A Beginner’s Guide For Wellness Professionals” shows you step by step from start to finish how wellness professionals can benefit from this new female-led social network.
For a very limited time only the guide A Beginner’s Guide For Wellness Professionals is FREE. Just enter your name and primary email address right below this paragraph and we’ll send it to you immediately.

LinkedIn For ProfessionalsCareer Suicide on LinkedIn? Or Corporate Crisis?
This past week I had to encourage (more like convince) one “perfectionist” private coaching client to celebrate her many achievements.

While there is a place for tracking, monitoring and tweaking, there are very valid reasons to celebrate and anchor in successes rather than focusing on how much more one could have done.
Small wins build up to bigger wins. And any progress is a step closer to what you want to achieve. So do celebrate your wins! And when you are focused and committed on implementing and taking action, with proper guidance you are bound to have great wins each week!
If you would also like to achieve MORE of your business goals through One-On-One private coaching you contact us here and we’ll get back to you.
How Are You Branding You or Your Business?
I just finished a presentation on Personal Branding using Social Media.
Corporations too are asking for workshops on Social Media.
Social Media is not going away, it is still evolving and changing the way we do business.

Before you “do” Social Media you want to think through and plan this out with a trusted advisor. You would need a social media policy and plan. Here are some articles that will highlight pitfalls to avoid.
