Beware of Facebook Scams And Know How To Use Facebook Correctly

March 1, 2013 by Louisa Chan Leave a Comment

For Facebook Administrators
Do you have a Facebook Page (not the Facebook Personal Account with friends but the Business Page with “Likes”)?
Be careful
A phishing scam was going around. It targets Facebook page owners.
A Scam. Someone from Facebook “Security Team” will message the page administrator that their page is “in violation of terms of service of Facebook”. And threatens to permanently suspend the user’s account.
It then offers users the option to “verify” their account if they believe the situation is a mistake. This is where it gets suspicious and dangerous.
Users are then taken to a link where they are asked to provide their page name, email address or phone number, and password. This is how they get your login and password – full report here.
If you have an intern managing your social media account, make sure she knows what she is doing. Make sure she knows what danger signs to watch out for.
Besides abiding by Facebook’s rules (especially in running contests), having some basic online knowledge will help her differentiate what’s genuine and bogus.

Facebook For Small Business Builders
Diagram For Illustration Only. You Can Download You Digital Product Once You Make Payment

This is video based and you can send in your questions if you need clarifications. If you like to beef up your knowledge of Facebook, I have a course that tells you the essentials of Facebook.
The course is designed for busy business owners. It includes only the things that are fundamental and important if you are using Facebook for your business.
You don’t need this if you are using Facebook on your personal account to connect with friends.
But if you use Facebook for your business then:

  • Know Facebook’s Terrms of service,
  • know what you can do to optimized your page and
  • what you definitely should not do and
  • if you don’t want to risk having your account shut down

Then Get This Course.
It is well worth the price you pay and …
the price will go up the next time I promote it.
There is no shipping fee for buying this course. Once you make payment online using Pay Pal or your credit card, you will be sent an email asking if you would like to be kept in the loop for update videos on Facebook that you are entitled to. Open that mail, click to confirm and you will be sent a link where you can watch the video or download them as you please. If you need anything else, just get in touch or leave us a comment below.
By the way, what are some challenges you face in managing your Facebook Page? You can leave your comments below. Perhaps someone else will have similar issues and they can share their tips with you.
OK, that’s all for this post. The course is still at an introductory fee. I am not sure how long I will keep the product at the introductory price. If you would like to a Facebook course that gives you important tips that are absolutely necessary, a course that walks you through only what you need to know (and not the frills) then get the course here before the price goes up!

New Facebook Event Photo

February 28, 2013 by Louisa Chan Leave a Comment

New Facebook Features Every So Often
Facebook continues to evolve and test new features. Just recently a few new features were released and I like to share a couple with you – so you can use them immediately and see some results.

Facebook Rolled Out New Event Photo Layout
If you make use of Facebook Pages to promote your business you will be happy to know that Facebook is paying more attention to the Event feature and its visual display. See image below.

Facebook New Event Photo

The new Event Photo is 714 by 264 pixels (at the time I wrote this) and takes the top center position of an event. This gives you much more space to display a banner-like photo to promote your event. The old image was given much less exposure, measuring 180 x 185 pixels and the image was placed on the left of the event.
Facebook EventThumbnail: Facebook will create a thumbnail of your event when it is shared or when this is viewed on your mobile devices (see image below).
And if you also share the event on your timeline (personal account) a thumbnail will also be shown on the Event application at the top of your profile page.
Fix For Facebook Bug To Be Rolled Out When It Is Ready Facebook announced in March 2012 that not all fans will see your posts all the time. This has generated some fierce debate in the community. While some complained (and still do), others went ahead and made the most of various cost effective Facebook advertisements.
More good news for you. Just recently Facebook admitted that a bug has caused Facebook Insights to be misreported, leading many to think that their posts reached far fewer people than they actually did. So if you are a Page owner, your total reach might have been more than what you thought.
We don’t know when the fix will be rolled out, but we do know that developers have admitted the issue are working on a fix.
Set A Solid Facebook Page Foundation
As you can see Facebook is changing all the time with new features introduced almost every week. To capitalize on these new features, it is important that you keep abreast of the changes.  This is something I try to include these in my regular newsletter to you.
And it is even more important that you set up your Facebook Page correctly. Not building your Facebook Page the correct way will cost you dearly and implementing new features will not help.
I have a digital course on Facebook that helps you set up or optimize you Facebook page, what you Need to do and what you do Not want to do. I also outline how you can tap into the new Timeline Features using visuals to tell a story.
Here To Get The Facebook For Business Professionals
The course is still at an introductory fee. I am not sure how long I will keep the product at the introductory price. If you would like to a Facebook course that gives you important tips that are absolutely necessary, a course that walks you through only what you need to know (and not the frills) then get the course here before the price goes up!

Online Training and Coaching For Teachers and Coaches

Tutor Online Work For Yourself - Click For Full Report Below

Click For Full Report Below

Online Education and Training offers alternatives for many who cannot be in person to learn what you have to teach. Online training not only saves cost and time, it is a means of extending the reach of your training and coaching. And this trend is definitely on the rise.
Many Teachers and Coaches are already offering lessons and coaching sessions online. Private Tutors too are earning a handsome living tutoring form home. If you have expert knowledge or a message close to heart that you want to share, you too can also tap into the wave of online or digital education.
Ever wondered if there is a way to teach, tutor, coach more people more efficiently and effectively online without incurring expensive costs or cumbersome technology?
No, I don’t mean you need to work with tutoring agencies or coaching schools.
You can start your teaching and coaching career with them but that is not the way that will get you the most for your effort. There are many advantages to starting your own online business offering education / training / coaching.
A Brand New Report: I just released a brand new report on how you can earn more and work less tutoring language online – not with a tutoring center or coaching school but working for yourself, running your own online business.
This works if you are teaching another subject (any subject for that matter) or coaching online (say wellness coaching or relationship coaching etc)
Here’s the sneak peak to the guide. You can click to download the complete Guide HERE

Get More Clients And Take Charge Of Your Marketing

February 15, 2013 by Louisa Chan Leave a Comment

Chiropractors and Massage Therapists: Why Getting Your Own Clients Is Crucial

What’s the biggest problem for Business Owners?
The two most common response I get include:
– I don’t have enough clients or
– I don’t have a steady stream of clients

So you try using Groupon or Living Social.
Was that successful?
Did you get more clients?
I get different response from different LMTS.
We have long discussion with differing views.
Let’s step back and understand this better.

Why did you try using Groupon?
– They get you clients and you don’t have to do marketing.
– Maybe you are not sure how to go about doing marketing
– And you rather let Groupon do it – even if it means you have to give them a large cut your margin.

Not knowing how to do marketing WILL cost you dearly.
I mean you get maybe a quarter of your normal fee.
That’s 3/4 of your hard earned revenue spent on marketing – for not taking charge of your own marketing.

And other issues you experience may include:

  • Not having any say over the kind of clients you get (these are nice people, but they are deal seekers and bargain hunters who probably may not come back for another massage. Not your ideal clients.
  • Not having any control over the price you set
  • Not having any control on the volume of coupons sold. Some MTs are over booked and they had to deliver on the sales

The Dissatisfaction Sometimes Affects The Business

Which Option?
Which Option?

Beside the financial impact you may hurt yourself overworking when too many coupons are sold and redeemed in a short period of time.
Over time this can cause emotional struggles and strains.
You may not like serving these clients no matter how nice they may be.
Because you feel unappreciated, short changed and you are resentful of the deal.
And so the healing work has a little grudge attached to it and you don’t really look forward to these sessions.
Is there a better way to get clients?
A Take charge of your own marketing – do it yourself
B Hire a trusted marketing agent who has your interest at heart

A: Take Charge Of Your Own Marketing – DIY
You would need to invest some time to learn this stuff. You would also need to experiment with what works for your niche market and your unique modalities.
If you learn this on your own, it won’t cost you any obvious fee. But you will be paying with time and missed opportunities. Why?
Because there is so much information out there (and on the internet) and you won’t know which to choose. Time is wasted on sorting things out and experimenting to see what works.
Quite often the data consists of opposing ideas from different “gurus” and you are pulled in different directions.
If you want to do the marketing yourself and if you do not want to spend too much time wondering around in the woods, your best bet would be to invest in a course or workshop (online, in person or blended) or to get help from a trusted mentor/advisor  or someone who knows how this thing works.
When you work with a Mentor or Coach, you get clear strategies and tips that work for your unique case. You will learn the trade and the skills stays with you; you are growing your business as well as your entrepreneurial skills. It will bring your rapid results and in the long run, you will have a sustaining business that is on solid ground.
When you business grow, you can hire assistants to help you so you do not have to do all the tasks yourself. This is growing your business while letting you enjoy the freedom to do things you like with the people you love.
B. Hire A Trusted Marketing Agent
You could short cut the process and get clients sooner by engaging trusted marketing agents. In this case you get to save time and get on with doing the healing and giving bit.
And you will also get better results because these experts know what works for your business – instead of you experimenting and shooting in the dark. Your return will be well worth your investment.
This is having someone help you put up a plan that works for your specific case where you have control over the budget, the segment market you want to focus on, the kind of offer you are comfortable making and the volume you can cope with.
Either Way, Take Control Of Your Marketing
Do not leave this important part of your business to the mercy of others. If you like to get more clients with personal coaching and mentoring or find a trusted advisor/agent, click here to contact us and we will be in touch.
We can help you grow your client base either way. Click to to find out more about us and see your business grow today. Why wait?

Tighten Online Security Using Password Manager

January 8, 2013 by Louisa Chan Leave a Comment

Online Security Password Management
Online Security Password Management

Are you using many different applications on the internet? If you are and if you sign up to use different applications then you probably may be using the same password for the different accounts. That is not a good idea.

In the unfortunate event that your email is hacked (I have friends who have had that happened to them) you don’t want hackers to have easy access to your Pay Pal account or your Internet Banking details.  So to tighten your online security, do use different user names and passwords.

You can either make use of a spreadsheet (like excel) and update that regularly as you change out the passwords once a month or once in a couple of months. If that is too troublesome for you, or if you are afraid this may land on hackers, then you may want to make use of a Password Manager.

In this video I show you 2 different Password Managers that you can use. I am not associated or affiliated with them and have no commercial interest whether you use these products or not. But try them out and see if these will help you. One is free, the other has a trial period. In any case, do change out your passwords Now (if they are used across different accounts).

In setting passwords, it is good practice to use upper and lower case letters as well as special characters and numbers in your passwords. Phone numbers, house numbers and birthdays are not great for passwords. If you have a few minutes, watch this video and as soon as you finish the video go change out your passwords.

The New LinkedIn Profile Calls For Greater Attention To An Effective Set Up

January 3, 2013 by Louisa Chan Leave a Comment

New LinkedIn Profile For Louisa Chan

New LinkedIn Profile Layout Calls For Careful Profile Set Up

LinkedIn has been going through lots of changes and enhancement recently.
Besides offering company pages for everyone, it is also rolling out the new LinkedIn profile for individual professionals.

You don’t have to do anything to get the new LinkedIn profile. You can request to be given the profile earlier and you will be put in a queue  LinkedIn is rolling it out in stages to the different account holders.

While the layout has changed significantly and some applications will no longer be supported, with the new profile the importance of setting up an effective profile is still and ever more important.

I was a little disappointed to find out that I can no longer feed my blog posts to my LinkedIn homepage. But I get to keep the slideshare application since LinkedIn has bought over slide shares. With the new design it is more important to fill up your profile effectively so you can attract new contacts and build relationships.

Using LinkedIn Correctly? Occasionally I still get invites by people on LinkedIn who do not have a photo and who have no write up on their profile . And 98% of the invites is sent using the generic message provided by LinkedIn. And many times the new contacts do not respond to the “thank for connecting” message I send back.

It is also not unusual to receive long sales pitch from new connections who have not taken time to build relationships. So I thought I will do the free training on LinkedIn again. LinkedIn is not a place to collect emails for spamming. It is a Professional Networking site.

In the video here I will show you what my free LinkedIn training will help you achieve. You will see the old LinkedIn profile layout, but the psychology of how an effective LinkedIn profile still holds true. In fact the new profile forces you to think about your write up and your copy. So here’s a preview video that tells you what you can expect from the 60-minutes Free online video training on LinkedIn.
