Are you a Teacher, Trainer, Tutor or and Coach who love to inspire and teach but would rather be attached to an educational institution than start up your own business and look for your own students?
The Spiritual-Minded Are Encouraged To Be Ethically Business-Minded
For the longest time I thought teachers should keep to being content experts and not be involved in selling or marketing. The “engineers of the souls” (灵魂的工程师) are doing spiritual work and is held in high esteem. Surely they should not be “thinking in business terms” which is deemed to be too worldly.
Yet

• If you are not in business then you are not allowing you to grow to your fullest capacity
• In fact if you are not in business you are not allowing your best self to shine through
• And if you are not promoting yourself than you are not impacting enough lives nor living your higher purpose 

OK,  those are some loaded sentences that warrant some contextual explanations.
The Story Of The Talents
We are familiar with the story of the rich man who went on a journey and entrusted his stewards with wealth. The owner was pleased with the stewards who grew the talents and expanded the business. He was not impressed with the one who dug a hole and hid the wealth.
We have all been bestowed and “entrusted” with different talents and skills, and we have acquired much knowledge and experience along the way.
The Need To Grow And Multiply
We are encouraged to be creative and find new ways to bring in more wealth.  Even if you  are not a risk taker (you don’t make 100 fold) you are given the opportunity to make something out of the talents entrusted to you (by putting it to work and not hiding it).
Burying Your Talents Does Not Serve Anyone

• You want to promote the value or solution you bring so you are accessible to those who need your service
• There is no need to feel uncomfortable promoting your expertise and asking for your dues
• And there is no need to feel guilty if you are making profit through an honest exchange when you offer your skills for cold hard cash – when you add value to others

Being spiritually minded doesn’t exclude you from being a wise and ethical entreprenuer.
Two Ways Of Running Your Business – With Or Without Ethics
There are the less-than-desirable business institutions whose sole concern is to make gains and will do whatever it takes even if it is unethical, out of integrity or hurts others. I am not saying that you should ever operate your business this way. But don’t throw the baby out with the water.
Because there is genuine need and demand for the solution you offer, you need to rise up and make your services known far and wide so many more people can benefit, many more lives changed and impacted.
Being A Successful Spiritually Minded Business Owner:

• Is not just about making money, or growing big and powerful
• Is not about you
• Allows you to influence and help more lives, make bigger differences
• Is about using what you have been blessed with to help others in exchange for the reward you agree on

Run your ethical business by adding real value in a fair and transparent exchange.
Successful Business Owners Get The Freedom To Be Ethical
If you are an employee you are not at liberty to use your own approach. Sometimes you are caught in difficult positions when corporate polices are not in alignment with your core values or morals. Here’s an example with Stamps.com The internal struggle was so strong that this person had to leave the company to remain congruent to himself.
You don’t have to work with businesses that are out of integrity if you run your own business. That is not the case if you are an employee or contract worker.  In those instances following “corproate policies” may feel like you are burying your own integrity. That does not serve anyone, not your clients, not you, not even the institutions you work for.
Owning A Business Helps You Grow Personally and Professionally
Being in ethical business demands that you go out of your comfort zone, stand your ground, champion your cause and try new approaches, chart new grounds and claim sweet victories. Managing and growing your business demands that you grow personally and professionally.
It involves your continuously learning and improving. You not only need to be discipline and organized, you’ll need to know how to plan, organize, manage and discern, make decisions and learn from mistakes. If you are starting up a business you’ll also need to know how to take calculated risk, exercise lots of patience, self control, resilience, and be able to take responsibility for your actions.
If you are not in business you are not living out your life fully, not being the best you can be.
And that is why the spiritually minded wise teacher was teaching us to be entrepreneurially minded, run your own ethical business and operates with integrity.  Grow more wealth and pass on the blessings.
