Dig Deeper, Grow Stronger and Thrive

March 15, 2014 by Louisa Chan Leave a Comment

tree with deep rootsSome things are just not in our control; like the weather. It has not rained in a month.
The haze (smog) is at unhealthy level. And we don’t have enough water in the dam. So Kuala Lumpur is experiencing water rationing.
But the trees are still standing tall and I still hear happy birds chirpping as they come to rest on the branches.
Dig Deeper, Grow Stronger and Thrive
While we can’t control the external environment, we can decide on the choice of action we will take. We can deepen the roots to draw water and nutrients even in a dry spell and it will still be able to provide for the brids even in challenging times.
If you are experiencing a season of winter in your business now, or a season draught, it is all too easy to despair and start second guessing yourself. While you may be implementing the right strategies, there are still external factors that are outside of your control.
For example, changing trends, new economic or political influences, changing demographic and so on are all outside of your control. And there will be times when things may not seem to move no matter how hard you work.
In times like this Press On. Continue to lay a firm foundation, dig deeper so you position yourself and be ready when the right opportunity arises. Create your own luck. You may not be able to control external forces, but you can control the action you take.
You Don’t Wait For The Right Environment
You lay a firm foundation and work at it whatever environment you are in. You put in the hard work consistently and regularly, even if it’s inconvenient. And even if it hurts. Even if those around you have given up.
As you continue to lay the foundation and do the work, your roots will grow deep and wide, you’ll be able to draw upon the riches that is not known to others and you will in time (when the environemnt is right) have something of value to offer to those who are seeking.
You will flourish and thrive because you have not given up but have continued to lay the ground work and poistion yourself for success.
This Is True In Life As It Is In Business
As you seek to provide for those who are looking for solutions you’ll find your own way out.   May your mission and purpose refresh you as you dig deeper and until your work comes to fruition.
