PEGGY THARPE, founder of American Pronunciation Coach, and president of The American Pronunciation Center, is the creator of two innovative approaches to teaching the English sound, The Gesture Approach for pronunciation, Rhythm and Beat for intonation, and What’s Your Point? for improving communication and public speaking.
With 40 years in the field, she has helped many people learn to communicate more effectively in English, from elementary-age students to diplomats and executives. She works directly with individual professional clients, and trains English language teachers in her unique methods. She also provides customized programs in the Intensive and Customized Language Programs of the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
Peggy speaks at conferences, writes a teaching blog, and is currently authoring a teacher-training program to share her groundbreaking methods. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, is certified as both Master Teacher, and Trainer of Trainers.
