Why Social Media for Chiropractors?
What Social Media platforms can Chiropractors use?
And how does that help you the Chiropractor and us the patients?
“Can you recommend me a good chiropractor?” I see this being asked on LinkedIn and Facebook all the time.
Google for “Chiropractic Association Malaysia and this is what comes up.
Problem 1: Chiropractors are not showing up where people are looking for them. And if you do find them on local searches, their Google Local Business Pages are usually quite empty. These listings do not tell us much about their practice.
Problem 2: The only chiropractic practice that shows up with a website on my search has a free Google Local Page that is empty and unverified. At the same time the same chiropractic practice is paying high advertising cost to rank on Google paid advertisement aka Google Adwords.
If only the chiropractor is aware of Google Local Listing and how to use it! I am sure he would have tapped into the free SEO-rich and mobile friendly Google Local Page that has been prepared for his practice. Instead, he is paying top dollars to rank on Google for very little coverage.
A friend was driving, turned back to check for cars before he switched lanes and hurt himself – somewhere. Not sure where but it was painful and he had to turn his entire torso to avoid sharp beck and shoulder pain. He went to visit a massage therapist.
I love massage therapists, but I think Chiropractors and Massage Therapists help in different ways.
Chiropractic practices are still relatively new in Malaysia. Some patients do not fully understand the services that chiropractors provide and how they are different from physiotherapists or massage therapists.
Problem 3: If there are more chiropractors on LinkedIn, with a blog site, or if they have their own YouTube channels then perhaps patients will be better informed and will be going to the right places for the correct treatment. And chiropractors will get more clients.
People are not going to Yellow Pages to look for information anymore. Everyone searches for information on line. Patients are willing to learn about their own issues and want to look for solutions. They want to communicate with physicians.
If your chiropractic practice shows up and provides patients with relevant valuable information and if there is proof of other happy clients, chances are these new clients will be willing to give you a chance and try out your services.
It’s time we look into Social Media for Chiropractors. Chiropractors who have a prominent LinkedIn Presence and a blog site who can connect with patients on YouTube and Facebook have more new and loyal clients.
